What is an icon? Today we often think of an icon being synonymous with celebrity, yet there is something more, something intangible. A combination of image and subject that becomes indelible. This series is not about re-creation - but about you recognise the reference. What is it about these images and how we recall them that makes them so resonant in our collective culture?

Each of these two series work as narrative - expressing the breaking down of barriers, a move from isolation towards healing of the self.
